Laziest Day Of The Year
Ah, the day after Thanksgiving. I don't even know why I pretended I would be productive today. Sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat some more....
I am down to 1 week and 3 days left of school. I never thought I would get this far, and I have no idea how I will make it to the end.
I've been getting a lot of questions lately about what my degree is in and what I do at my job. I'm going to lay it out here one more time-
* My undergrad degree was a Bachelor of Science, Major in E-Marketing, from Maryville University.
* The degree I will have in 1 week and 3 days is a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, from Maryville University.
* I work at (Blank), a division of (Blank) and (Blank), as an Account Manager. (Blank) does search marketing. Search Marketing may also be called Search Engine Marketing, or SEM.
*What is search marketing you ask? I optomize websites to rank higher on the major search engines in the organic, or natural, listings when a keyword that is relvant to that site is searched on. The organic listings are the sites that pull up in the middle or main part of the page. They usually have a white background. This is called Search Engine Optomization, or SEO.
*I also create pay-per-click advertising. These are the listings that show on a search engine as a "Sponsored Listing" when you search on a keyword. Sometimes you will see one or two of these at the top of the page, but normally they are listed down the right column of the page. These may have a background of a color other than white to seperate them from the organic listings. I write these ads and then bid on what place I want them to show in. This is called paid search, Pay-Per-Click (because a client does not pay for the ad until someone clicks on it), or PPC.
Make sense? I had no idea how many people didn't understand what I do.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. Way way way too much food. I have 5 pies and some kind of coffee cake thing in my fridge, so if you're hungry for sweets, PLEASE come get some.
What I'm really getting excited about is Christmas! Mom and Christopher are coming home the 23-31!
Sondra is home now!!!!!!!!!!!!! My life is almost back to normal.
Nick is still doing great this semester. He loves his job. His classes will be over the week before Christmas. Ugh, I can't wait.
Pete, Mickey, and Chili are all wonderful, too. Not much new on the homefront. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
