Chili's The Head of the Class

I have to brag about my girl, because you know anyone with a human child would do the same. We're going to training class on Sundays with Chili. This past Sunday was our second class where the trainer had a competition to see who learned the trick they were assigned the previous week the best. The command we were supposed to work on was "Watch Me", where the dog makes eye contact with you and doesn't break it. We needed to have them do it for at least 5 seconds. And, guess who won??!!! That's right, my Bean. I actually broke it before she did because I was so excited I felt I had to give her the treat right then.

For some dogs, this might not seem to be such a big accomplishment. However, when you take into consideration we were in the middle of a busy pet store with numerous other dogs around making noise, this was a milestone for her.

This week we are working on a relaxed down. She can already lay down when we tell her to, but this one is a little different where she has to kick her hips to the side so she's not in a position to easily jump up. We'll see how this goes.
