Looking Forward To The Weekend
So it's Friday. And this is the first Friday in a very long time where I am not dreading the upcoming weekend of house hunting after house hunting -sigh- after house hunting. BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO HOUSE HUNT THIS WEEKEND. I plan on spending this weekend doing two main things- 1) being at home with the dogs, cleaning and packing and/or 2) taking the dogs to the park to enjoy the weather. I feel as though they have suffered the most through this whole finding a house process, so it does needs to bees made up to dems.
We had the house inspection done yesterday morning, four hours of my life I will never get back. The final report was posted, and lets just say the current owners have quite a few items that fall under "HAZARDOUS", Safety Concern and Major Repair. Naturally, this means we will be requesting to have these items fixed. And rightfully they should...since no human being should be living with their house in this state, nor expect buyers to accept it for themselves. I'm shocked at how the same person who takes so much care in ensuring their house is decorated just so will also live with life threatening electrical, gas and plumbing conditions in their home. I have this funny feeling that since they never fixed these things for themselves, they won't see a reason to fix them now. And then there will be an all out WAR.
Yesterday I felt overwhelmed with how much work is ahead of us. Today I feel overwhelmed with the excitement of having our own place. I guess it will be an up-and-down like this for awhile? New home owners, opinions?
